Dear Distillery Diaries,
Whilst we have since moved to a larger property in the North East, the Yarm Distillery team have never forgotten our Yorkshire roots. In this blog, we invite you to celebrate them with us!
What is Yorkshire Day?
Observed annually on 1st August, Yorkshire Day was established in 1975 as a celebration of the entire region of Yorkshire. Alongside the pride and unity that it inspires in our communities, Yorkshire Day has been marked since 1985 by a gathering of councillors, Mayors, Lord Mayors and dignitaries from across Yorkshire (all in full regalia!).
Yarm Distillery: A Proud Yorkshire Business
For the last seven years, Yarm Distillery have been proudly championing our Yorkshire values; working hard, never giving up, and always finding something to laugh about. In July 2023, we released the North East’s first single malt English whisky — and Yarm Whisky is now a history-making name!
Limited Edition Yarm Gin
Collaborating with a local artist, Claire Baxter, we produced limited edition bottles of Yarm Gin that celebrated the beauty and character of Yarm. Claire’s art celebrates North Yorkshire and the surrounding landscapes, making the bottles a beautiful addition to any shelf, and our hand-crafted Yarm Gin is the perfect tipple for raising a glass to “God’s Own County”.
You can find both limited-edition bottles here:
Here’s to Yorkshire, everyone!
